Organic Montmorency Cherry Preserves
This perfectly sweet-and-tart preserve is made with cherries from a small selection of local farmers. One of those farming families is the Koberniks, whose story re-inspires us every time we share it.
In 1985, the Koberniks decided to take a leap of faith and follow a longtime dream of raising their kids on a farm. But 14 years of "working within the system" left them disillusioned, Cheryl Kobernik says. The next big change came after they were inspired by an organic agriculture conference in 1998. The seed was planted, and the Koberniks made a decision to go against convention, embarking on a path which resulted in their first certified organic crop in 2003. Soon their organic cherries found a home in Food For Thought's first local, organic cherry preserve. Despite skeptics who told them that cherries can't be grown organically, the Koberniks forged ahead, earning a wealth of first-hand knowledge and a clear option for others to follow in their wake. And while they acknowledge that the commitment to organic cherry farming still includes many challenges and struggles, Cheryl will confidently say that whatever the future holds, "One absolute certainty is that we will not return to the conventional system."

As with all Food for Thought jams and preserves, I can only say the honest flavors of the berries always comes through.
I first bought FFT tart cherry preserves and graduated to the other cherry types. There is no better that I have ever
tasted. My family and I are huge fans. They are worth it.
